Description


This exceptional antique George VI sterling silver compact has a rectangular, arched form.


The cover is embellished with an impressive ribbed pattern flanked to either side with a 9ct rose gold ribbed panel, all in the Art Deco style.


The sides of the body are ornamented with a continuation of decoration from the cover.


The curved anterior edge of the box is fitted with an exceptional arched iconic Art Deco style platinum catch, ornamented with twelve pavé set diamonds and eleven channel set emeralds.


The underside of this antique compact reflects the same ornamentation to the cover and sides, apart from the aforementioned rose gold features are displayed in sterling silver.


The hinged cover opens to reveal the original integrated mirror and gilded interior.


The compact is fitted to the original leather pouch.


This exceptional example of antique silverware, imported by the renowned London silversmiths Asprey & Co Ltd, is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.


This hallmarked sterling silver mirror compact has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified to include platinum and 9 ct gold.

The mirror is in perfect condition.

Full import hallmarks struck to the interior surface of the compact are all very clear.
