This fine antique brooch has been handcrafted in 15ct yellow gold in the form of a stylistic winged scarab beetle.*
The 15ct yellow gold wings are detailed with chased feather-like decoration.
The main body of the creature is set with a cabochon turquoise , whilst the abdomen displays a millegrain set 0.50ct pear shaped, old Dutch cut diamond.
Two round old Dutch cut diamonds represent the beetle's eyes.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin.
The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading certificate for the feature diamond, and a gemstone and diamond grading report card for the supporting stones.
*The Victorians became increasingly fascinated with Egyptian artefacts and designs. One of the most influential was the scarab beetle. The beetle was depicted in Egyptians designs as a large round beetle with feather-like wings.

This antique brooch is a very good gauge of gold, fine quality, set with a very good, clear diamonds.
