A very fine and impressive antique victorian diamond, pearl and ruby, 15 carat yellow gold brooch in the form of a hornet; part of the AC Silver jewellery range

Description

This fine quality antique diamond brooch has been realistically modelled in the form of a hornet / wasp in 15ct yellow gold.

The striped abdomen and veined wings of the hornet are silver set with old Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes.

The creature's thorax is set with a cultured pearl, and its eyes, cabouchon rubies.

The hornet's legs and antennae have been realistically crafted in 15ct yellow gold.

The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety catch.

This fine brooch is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box.

The box is velvet and satin lined and displays the retailer's mark 'Poile & Smith, Court Jewellers, 520 Oxford Street'.

This antique brooch is supplied with an independent gemstone and diamond grading report card.

This impressive brooch is very high quality set with fine, high colour antique diamonds.
