12.80 ct Diamond and 15 ct Yellow Gold Pendant - Antique Victorian

SKU: W2579
Price    £12,950.00

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English 15 carat gold and diamond pedant / brooch; an addition to the AC Silver jewellery range

Description

This fine and versatile brooch / pendant has a rhomboid, cushion shaped form.

The pierced decorated frame is handcrafted in 15ct yellow gold, with the diamonds claw and silver set.

The central 1.50ct old European round cut diamond is eight claw set and encircled by twelve 0.10ct old European cut diamonds.

An additional twenty-four Old European round cut diamonds create the central design.

The leaf style border is embellished with a further thirty-six diamonds.

(Apart from the central stone, all diamond weights are approximate - the stones would have to be removed from the setting for a perfectly accurate weight to be provided).

This exceptional yet versatile brooch retains the original loop attachment which converts the brooch to a pendant.

This loop is set with three Old European round cut diamonds totalling 0.40ct.

The brooch itself is secured to the rear with a hinged pin and safety clip.

This fine example of Victorian jewellery is fitted to its original hinged leatherette box.

The box has a velvet and satin lined interior which bears the retailers mark: Carrington & Co. by appointment to the late King George V.

This item could be supplied with an appropriate gold chain, in keeping with the age of the piece.

This brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading certificate for the central stone, in addition to the independent diamond grading report card illustrated.

This brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 ct gold>

Condition

When viewed under a x 10 mag eye glass, the impressive central diamond has a few minor nibbles to the rim, in keeping with age (perfectly acceptable, without detracting from the impressive nature).

(If required however, the centre stone could be re-cut with no apparent loss of size, and minimal loss of weight between 0.05 - 0.10ct)

The box is in excellent condition.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian jewellery.
