A fine antique Austrian silver and enamel cigarette / card case; part of our continental silverware collection

Description

This fine antique Austrian silver and enamel cigarette case has a rectangular plain shaped form.

The anterior cover is embellished with a guilloche enamel panel depicting two European street dancers with a pale yellow background, with the artwork signed 'Paliavo'.

The sides of this cigarette case and posterior cover are plain and unembellished.

This case is fitted with a rounded thumbpiece and push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments, one of which is fitted with a retaining strap.

The 900 standard hallmark is struck to the interior of the rim to the back cover.

Condition

This antique cigarette case is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition.

The enamel is in perfect condition.

Hallmarks struck to the back cover of the case are all clear.
