A fine antique Austrian sterling silver and enamel cigarette case: part of our continental silverware collection

Description

This fine cigarette case has a rectangular shaped form with rounded corners.

The enamel panel to the front cover depicts a period nautical scene with racing sailboats identified as J-class yachts.

There is engine turned linear decoration to the reverse of the cigarette case.

The case is fitted with a push fit catch which when released reveals the hallmarked gilt interior.

Condition

This fine case is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition.

The enamel is in perfect condition. There are minor surface scratches as to be expected with a piece of this age.

The 935 hallmark to the interior of the case is clear.
