Description

This fine antique Austrian silver and enamel vesta case has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners.

The front of the case is ornamented with an enamel panel displaying a semi-naked female portrait adorned with luxurious long brown hair.

The vesta has an incorporated serrated match striker to the underside.

It is fitted with a ring loop attachment and a hallmarked spring hinged cover.

The hallmarks denote the vesta case was made in Austria, imported by Steinhart & Co. and assayed in Brimingham, England.

Condition

This fine quality continental silver vesta case is a very good gauge of silver.

Apart from a minor surface chip to the bottom left (as viewed) corner of the enamel plaque, the vesta case is in excellent condition.

The case has been professionally polished.

Full hallmarks struck to the rim of case and interior of the cover are all clear.
