This very good antique etched glass and silver table centrepiece has a fluted glass pillar onto a knopped silver stem, supported by a domed spreading foot.
The detachable glass flute is embellished with alternating acid etched fern and husk designs.
The circular glass plate to the middle of the centrepiece is ornamented with a band of acid etched floral garlands, accented with husk motifs.
The knopped stem of this fine continental centrepiece is embellished with bands of engraved repetitive patterns in a zig-zag design, incorporating a large circular vacant cartouche in the form of a belt and buckle.
The rim of the foot is ornamented with an engraved interwoven band and foliate decorated border.
Condition
This antique centrepiece is a very good gauge of silver , very good quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The engraved decoration is very crisp.
The Diana Kopf 800 standard silver mark struck to the rim of the base is very clear.
The makers mark is partially rubbed.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of continental silverware .
