This fine antique continental silver bachelor teapot has a plain circular compressed form onto a circular spreading foot.
The body and push fit domed cover are plain and unembellished.
The cover is surmounted by a bun shaped carved wood finial.
This Dutch teapot is fitted with a carved C scroll wood handle ornamented with a noteworthy scrolling silver upper socket.
The hallmarks struck to the underside of this fine teapot and interior of the cover include:

Maker's mark VK (Van Kempen)
Date mark: L (1870)
This antique bachelor teapot is a good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.
