Description

This dress ring has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold.

This yellow gold snake ring has a smooth finished, sculptured form modelled in the shape of two snakes* entwined.

The serpents' heads are independently ornamented with a claw set old round cut emerald and an Old European round cut diamond also claw set.

The multi strand shank forms on open twist at the shoulders and is continuous under the setting.

The hallmarks to the interior of the shank include the 18 ct fineness mark (18), the gold guarantee mark (crown), the Chester Assay Office mark (three sheaves), the date letter for 1919 (T), and the maker's mark 'JHW' (John Henry Wynn).

This yellow gold snake ring is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

"Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics."

Reference: The Connoisseur’s Guide to Precious Gemstones, R.Wise, Brunswick House Press.

NOTE* Snakes were a universally popular expression of eternal love or a powerful symbol of wisdom.
