A fine antique Victorian French etched glass and electroplated biscuit barrel; part of our continental silverware collection
Description
This unusual biscuit barrel has an oval form.
The glass body has etched decoration with four circular panels depicting a Roman head in profile and a star cut base.
The barrel has a hinged electroplated cover which has chased and bead decoration.
The cover is fitted with the original Medieval Soldier finial.
The glass body sits into its original electroplated frame, which has four tapering turned columns onto four bun feet.
The frame has acanthus decorated handles to either end.
Condition
The barrel is very good quality and apart from some wear to the hinged cover, is in excellent condition.
