This exceptional antique French silver teapot has a plain melon shaped form onto four impressive bracket style feet.
The body of the teapot is plain and unembellished.
This impressive teapot is ornamented with very fine chased scrolling floral and acanthus leaf decoration to the spout, scroll ornamented handle and bracket style scrolling feet.
This fine teapot is embellished with an applied molded leaf decorated border.
The front surface of the cover features a bright cut engraved crest depicting a cubit arm erect with the hand grasping a fish fesseways.
The teapot is fitted with a domed flush hinged cover which indicates the high quality of this piece.
The cover retains the impressive original flower and leaf finial.
Condition
This antique teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The chased decoration is very sharp.
The French guarantee mark and maker's mark are struck to the underside of the base.
The French guarantee mark is struck to the border and the interior of the cover.
The hallmarks are very clear apart from the maker's mark which is partially rubbed.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this item of silverware .
