What payment methods are accepted?


Payment may be made securely online using PayPal or Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Delta, Solo, Maestro

(Your credit card information is fed directly to Sec Pay and Pay Pal and is therefore totally secure).

If you prefer to complete your transaction over the phone, you may call the AC Silver UK store +44 (0) 191 2402645.

Direct bank transfer, money wire and UK drawn cheques are also acceptable.


Can I reserve an item?


Items can only be reserved for 7 days.


Can I cancel an order once received?


You are able to cancel your order within 7 working days. The 7 days will start the day after you receive the goods. The cancellation must be made by email or in writing. Provided the goods are received in the same condition as originally sent, and with the same packaging that they left our shop in, we will fully refund the price of the goods. The refund will be made as soon as the items are received back.


Can an item be paid for over several months?


Layaway / payment by instalments is a possible option.

Does AC Silver buy silver from private sellers?


Andrew Campbell only buys high quality items.

To facilitate any potential sale, good quality, clear photographs including close ups of the hallmarks may be emailed directly to andrew.campbell@acsilver.co.uk


If I purchase an item and wish to return it, what do I do?


Upon receipt of your purchase you have a 30 day money back guarantee.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase inform Andrew Campbell as soon as possible, either by email to andrew.campbell@acsilver.co.uk or by phone +44 (0) 191 2402645 and return the item within 30 days in the same condition as originally sent and you will receive a full refund.


What are your postage costs?


Postage is always free, both nationally and internationally


Do you deliver abroad?


AC Silver is happy to provide a worldwide delivery service.


How long will it take to deliver my item(s)?


UK deliveries are via Royal Mail Special Delivery or FedEx who provide next day, signed for, delivery before 1pm or 12 midday respectively

International shipments are via Royal Mail Parcel Force or Fed Ex. A tracking number is always provided allowing both Andrew Campbell and you, the customer to monitor an item’s progress, ensuring a prompt and safe delivery. If assistance is required, any issues regarding delivery will be personally dealt with by a member of the AC Silver staff.

All items are fully insured during transit, and are the responsibility of AC Silver until received by the customer.

What is an Insurance Valuation?


The complimentary insurance valuation provided by AC Silver is an informative document which provides a clear description, images and a replacement value for the item purchased.

This document may be used for insurance and reference purposes.

AC Silver provides this as a free service.


What is the difference between antique, vintage and contemporary?


The definition of an ‘antique’ is an item that is a hundred years old or more. It is acceptable however, for the term ‘antique’ to be used for an item manufactured before 1940.

‘Vintage’ items are items manufactured between 1940 - 1980, and ‘contemporary’ items are those produced in the last 30 years, up to present day.


Can a ring be sized?


Resize is dependent on the ring style/setting, and the degree of alteration requested

Any ring resize is free of charge.


What is the gift wrap service?


AC Silver is happy to provide a complementary gift wrap service where items purchased are presented in an elegant silk wrap, in either a ribbon tied AC Silver bag or ribbon bound silver box.


What is the difference between sterling silver and silver plate?


Sterling silver is colloquially known as ‘solid silver’.

The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925. (Millesimal fineness is the system denoting the purity of silver, gold and platinum alloys by parts per thousand of pure metal by mass in the alloy)

Silver plate is a fine coating of silver over a base alloy such as nickel eg EPNS electroplated nickel silver

Sterling silver is denoted by the appropriate hallmark, which in England is the lion passant and in Scotland, the lion rampant.


Does the price shown include VAT (Value Added Tax)?


All items offered for sale are sold on the antique or second hand margin scheme, so no VAT is charged/added to/included in the price.


What does the watch guarantee cover?


The majority of watch movements, where stated, have been professionally cleaned and serviced

If necessary AC Silver is happy to assist with any repair query in the future, although as these items are either antique or vintage, replaceable parts cannot be guaranteed.


How much do you charge for ring re-sizing?


The majority of rings offered can be resized free of charge.

What is your diamond guarantee?


AC Silver offers a complimentary service to help you care for any item of diamond jewellery purchased.

The 10 year Diamond Guarantee provides a free annual clean, claw and setting check to ensure every item of AC Silver jewellery looks at its very best all year round.


What is the independent diamond grading report card/certificate?


The vast majority of jewellery pieces purchased from AC Silver are supplied with a complimentary independent diamond grading certificate, or an independent diamond/ gemstone grading report card.

The reports are provided by the Independent Diamond Grading Laboratory based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, GB.

The independent gemmologist providing the grading is Stephen Chung, a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA) and recipient - Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) Diamonds and Diamond Grading Certificate.
