A very good antique German silver four piece tea and coffee service; an addition to our continental silver collection

Description

This antique German silver four piece tea and coffee set / service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl.

The coffee pot, sugar bowl and cream jug have a cylindrical plain tapering form, the teapot has an oval plain tapering form.

The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished.

Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with flush hinged hallmarked covers; indicating the fine quality of this service.

The covers of the coffee pot and teapot are surmounted by the original German silver cushion shaped finials.

The coffee pot and teapot are fitted with impressive swan necked spouts.

The sugar bowl retains the original detachable cover surmounted with a silver cushion shaped finial.

Each piece in this service is fitted with plain angular handles, apart from the teapot, which has a subtly shaped handle.

The cream jug and sugar bowl retain the original gilt interiors.

City mark: Crescent moon and crown

Condition

This antique tea and coffee service is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the each piece are all very clear.
