Description


This exceptional vintage Indian silver cigarette case has a rectangular shaped form with rounded corners.


The surface of this silver cigarette case is overlaid with impressive spiralling filigree ornamentation arranged into geometric foliate designs.


The anterior cover is embellished with a laurel wreath surmounted with the Imperial Crown and featuring the applied solid silver initials 'RAF' to the centre, all incorporating further filigree work.


The reverse cover is ornamented with filigree ornamentation within a pair of crossed flags and further floral designs to the upper and lower portions.


This fine vintage silver cigarette case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.


This Indian silver case has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as .925 sterling standard silver.

The pierced, applied and filigree decoration is all sharp.

There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration.
