This exceptional antique
Edwardian sterling silver has a circular baluster shaped form onto a domed circular foot. beer jug
The body of this piece of silverware is embellished with impressive chased floral, foliage, scroll and stylised shell decoration accented with a fruiting vine and incorporating a bordered vacant oval cartouche to either side.
jug is further embellished with a fine and impressive chased mask to the underside of the pouring lip.
This Irish piece retains the original hinged hallmarked domed cover retaining the original hallmarked floral and foliage finial.
The cover is encircled with chased scroll, floral and leaf decoration on a scale motif diaper pattern background.
This jug is fitted with a C scroll handle ornamented with scrolling leaf decoration incorporating an impressive figurehead to the upper portion.
The domed circular foot is encircled with chased floral and scrolling leaf decoration.
