Description

This large and impressive antique, Irish sterling silver sauceboat has an oval rounded plain shaped form, supported by three hoof feet.

The sauceboat has a bead decorated border around the rim.

The sauceboat is fitted with an opposing scroll handle.

There is a bright cut engraved marital coat of arms to one side of the sauceboat of the families O'Connor and Kempenfelt* - depicting a tree and a figure supporting a sword, surmounted by a crest of an arm embowed holding a sword.

Condition

This impressive sauceboat is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Hallmarks struck to the underside of the sauceboat are rubbed, in keeping with age, but legible.
