Description

This large and impressive antique Irish sterling silver sauceboat has a plain boat shaped form, supported by three very impressive applied lion mask and paw feet.

The surface of the sauceboat is embellished with subtle curved embossed decoration.

The sauceboat has a shaped scalloped rim .

This fine Georgian silver sauceboat is fitted with an impressive opposing scroll handle and ornamented with an acanthus leaf thumbpiece.

Condition

This impressive sauceboat is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition; in keeping with age.

Hallmarks struck to the underside of the sauceboat are very clear, although the maker’s mark has not been clearly struck.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this late Georgian silverware.
