Description


This exceptional antique George IV Irish sterling silver teapot has a circular rounded form onto four impressive Regency style feet.


The lower portion of the body of this fine teapot is embellished with fine and impressive chased opposing scroll bordered floral and foliate designs on a matte background.


The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive vacant shaped cartouche to either side, each uniquely bordered with chased scroll and stylised leaf ornamentation.


The flared rim encircling the shoulders and the upper domed portion of the body are ornamented with bands of chased floral and stylised leaf decoration.


This antique teapot is fitted with a domed flush hinged hallmarked cover which is encircled with further floral and foliate designs; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this fine piece.


The cover retains the original exceptional gourd and leaf style finial.


This Irish silver teapot is fitted with an impressive sterling silver C shaped handle with an applied leaf decorated thumbpiece.


The underside of the lower portion of the fine and impressive swan necked spout is ornamented with a chased scroll bordered foliate and floral design on a matte and scale motif diaper pattern background.


The spout has further stylised leaf decoration to the socket.

This antique Irish silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

The chased decoration to this piece is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks struck to the cover, handle and finial are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique Irish silverware.
