Description


These antique Victorian sterling silver and horn beakers have a tapering cylindrical form.


Each large beaker is fitted with a plain hallmarked cylindrical mount to the rim, encircled with two bands of tooled decoration.


The hallmarked mount to the base of each beaker is plain and unembellished.


The subtly translucent natural horn body of each beaker is ornamented with an applied silver shield shaped cartouche, one remains vacant and the other is embellished with the uncial-style typeface engraved initials ‘TW’.


The underside of each beaker is fitted with the original circular glass base.


Date: 1875

Condition


The antique silver mounts are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The horn vessels are in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each rim and part hallmarks to the surface of each base are all very clear in keeping with age and their location.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of thee fine examples of antique Victorian silverware.
