Description


This antique regimental brooch has been crafted in 14 ct yellow gold.


The Durham Light Infantry* initials (DLI) are embellished with seventeen, platinum set, Old Dutch cut diamonds.


The associated King's Crown is crafted in 14 ct yellow gold ornamented with red enamel panels and accented with six, platinum set, old cut diamonds.


The remainder of this authentic regimental brooch depicts the 'bugle horn stringed' in 14 ct yellow gold.


This fine World War II sweetheart brooch secures with a hinged pin and clasp to the reverse.


The reverse of the brooch is inscribed with initials J.H.K - R.C.K above the date 3/9/1939, the date Britain and France declared war on Germany.


The reverse of the brooch is also hallmarked 14ct and PLAT.


This Durham Light Infantry WWII regimental brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.


*Note: The original Regiment was formed in 1756 as the 2nd Battalion of the 23rd Regiment of Foot, becoming the Durham Light Infantry in 1881.

The 10th, 11th and 12th Battalions were formed in 1939.


Condition


This sweetheart brooch is fine quality, set with very high colour graded old cut diamonds.

The brooch is a very good gauge of gold and in excellent condition with clear hallmarks.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine examples of military jewellery / estate jewelry.
