Description

This stunning French antique dress ring has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with a 18ct white gold setting.

The pierced decorated, low profile setting displays a feature 2.20 ct old cushion cut natural ruby* set in subtle relief within twelve 18 ct yellow gold claws, encircled by twelve Old European cut diamonds.

The elevated, pierced decorated shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain hallmarked 18ct yellow gold ring shank.

The exterior of the shank is clearly hallmarked with the French horse's head.

This ruby ring is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

NOTE * There is a strong probability that the feature ruby is a Burmese ruby due to the colouring of the crystal inclusions; a colour referred to as pigeon's blood.

Burma rubies are generally regarded as the finest in the world, famed for their pure red colour and for there unique fluorescent quality.

Condition

This French antique ring is fine quality, set with a stunning natural ruby (such large antique rubies are becoming increasingly difficult to locate, and very high colour graded, very high clarity graded old cut diamonds.

This impressive, original ruby ring is in excellent condition with a clear French hallmark to the exterior of the shank.

The horse's head was used for 18 ct gold for items made in the French provinces between 1838 and 1919.
