Description

This impressive unusual antique Victorian collarette has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold with silver settings.

The stunning antique necklace has a scrolling link design accented with five articulated drops.

The drops graduate in size with the central drop being the largest.

Each drop is ornamented with an independently set oval cut natural ruby displayed above a feature Old European cut diamond to the centre of the design.

These diamonds are bordered to the sides by twin leaf designs embellished with Old European and Dutch cut diamonds.

Suspended from the geometric design to the lower border of each drop are two independently set natural emeralds, either pear or oval cut, displayed to either side of an independently set pear or oval cut natural ruby.

Each of the articulated droplets is accented with a collet set Dutch cut diamond.

This stunning antique necklace is embellished with five square cut natural emeralds at each junction between the drops and articulated, scrolling links.

The six impressive diamond pavé set, scrolling, stylised leaf design links are accented with a simple single diamond embellished 'bud', in addition to pearl decorated terminals.

This stunning hallmarked collarette retains the original elongated cable style 9 ct yellow gold necklace, which secures to the reverse with a feature collet set diamond ornamented push fit clasp in addition to a fine link safety chain and spring ring clasp.

This late 1800s collarette is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

This impressive example of Victorian craftsmanship is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation case, which has a satin and velvet lined interior.

"Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics."
