Description


This fine and impressive antique French cameo pearl brooch has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold.


The cameo is collet set in a simple oval frame, accented with a decorative rim of alternating collet set seed pearls and pale decoration with bead embellishment.


This impressive cameo brooch has a black hardstone background.


The carved cameo depicts the profile of an elegant lady, with classical features and curly upswept hair with flowers.


The subject is wearing characteristic period clothing, a high collared ruffled blouse and dress.


This fine example of antique jewellery secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and hallmarked clasp.


The hallmark struck to the frame, hinged pin and clasp is the French gold guarantee hallmark (eagle's head).


Condition


This French brooch is fine quality, set with natural pearls.

The brooch is a good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition with clear hallmarks.
