SOLD - Citrine & Emerald, 0.88 ct Diamond Ring & Earring Set, 9 ct Yellow Gold - Antique

Description

These fine and stunning examples of antique Victorian jewellery have been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold.

The impressive set consists of dress ring and matching drop earrings in the Gothic revival style.

Each piece has a pierced decorated, shaped 9 ct yellow gold design featuring a collet set oval cut natural citrine to the centre.

Each citrine is framed within a rectangular border ornamented with dark blue enamel and four natural step cut emeralds.

The outer, pierced decorated scrolling design around the ring is larger in nature than that around the earrings. All are silver set with Dutch cut diamonds.

The citrine earrings are suspended and articulate from two individually set Dutch cut diamonds which ornament the post style fitment which has a hinged fastening for additional security.

The citrine ring has a 9 ct yellow gold, three strand shank accented with a simple cuff design at the junction with the setting.

This stunning 1860's set is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

The ring and earrings have been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold.

"Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics."

Condition

These stunning examples of Victorian jewellery are fine quality, a good gauge of gold and in excellent condition.

Each piece is set with an impressive natural citrine, natural emeralds and very high colour graded old cut diamonds.

The blue enamel is in perfect condition.

The shank is fitted with an internal sleeve to reduce the ring size; this may be removed to enlarge the ring size, which otherwise may not be altered without affecting the integrity of the ring.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these fine examples of Victorian Gothic revival jewellery/jewelry.
