Description


This fine antique continental silver bachelor teapot has a plain circular compressed form onto a circular spreading foot.


The body and push fit domed cover are plain and unembellished.


The cover is surmounted by a bun shaped carved wood finial.


This Dutch teapot is fitted with a carved C scroll wood handle ornamented with a noteworthy scrolling silver upper socket.


The hallmarks struck to the underside of this fine teapot and interior of the cover include:

Silver quality/purity mark: Lion Passant .833 standard silver

Maker's mark VK (Van Kempen)

Date mark: L (1870)

Condition


This antique bachelor teapot is a good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot, and part hallmarks, as expected struck to the interior of the cover are very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
