Description


This exceptional antique French 9ct yellow gold lighter has a plain cylindrical form.


The surface of the gold case is embellished with engine turned decoration.


The hallmarked push fit cover is ornamented to the top surface with the original tooled initials ‘GCD’.


The plain gold sleeve to the body of this impressive lighter is signed ‘Cartier, London’.


The body is fitted with the original hallmarked sterling silver lighting barrel and mechanism.


This exceptional lighter is fitted to the original hinged leatherette box, secured with a push fit catch.


The interior of the box bears the 'Cartier' retailer’s mark and the underside of the box features ‘Cartier Ltd’.


The hallmarks struck to this collectable antique lighter include:

Maker’s mark: JC (Jacques Cartier)

Gold quality/purity mark: 9, .375 (9 carat gold)

Silver quality/purity mark: lion passant (925/1000)
