Description


These fine antique German silver table ornaments have been realistically modelled in the form of a pair of gulls.


Each of the gulls has been embellished with fine chased decoration reproducing the details of the plumage and facial features.


The hallmarks struck to the underside of each gull’s tail feathers include:

Maker's mark: Ludwig Neresheimer

Silver quality/purity mark: 800 (800/1000)

Country mark: Germany

National mark/reichsmark: Crescent moon and crown (Halbmond und Krone)


Antique bird ornaments such as these are commonly shaped as pheasants and cockerels, they are rarely found in the form of gulls.


Condition


These German silver table ornaments are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The hallmarks struck to the underside of these antique bird ornaments are all very clear.
