Description


This fine antique Edward VIII English sterling silver mounted, glass inkwell has an angular faceted form in the Art Deco style.


The neck of this Art Deco inkwell is encircled with an impressive silver mount and fitted with a circular rounded hinged hallmarked sterling silver cover.


The cover opens to reveal the original gilded interior and removable glass ink liner.


The sterling silver mount bears the retailer’s mark ‘Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co, 112 Regent St W’ in addition to the full hallmarks.


Date: 1936

Condition


This Art Deco inkwell is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The glass body is in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount and part hallmarks to the surface of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
