Description


This fine antique George V sterling silver mounted glass claret jug has a tapering octagonal, rounded panelled form.


The subtly neck is fitted with a fine and impressive plain sterling silver hallmarked mount with the original hallmarked flat hinged cover.


The cover is surmounted with a pierced decorated lobed silver thumbpiece.


The body of the jug incorporates a plain glass rounded, C shaped handle.


The glass body of this impressive claret jug is ornamented with a star cut motif to the base.


Date: 1916

Condition


This antique sterling silver mounted glass claret jug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The glass is in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique glassware.
