SOLD - Glass and Sterling Silver Mounted Decanter - Antique Edwardian

This fine antique Edwardian glass and sterling silver mounted decanter has a toroid (doughnut-like) form to an oval cut glass base.

The upper portion of the glass body has a circular collet rim.

The decanter is fitted with an impressive hallmarked sterling silver double lipped pouring collar.

This unusual decanter retains the original glass stopper overlaid with hallmarked sterling silver.

The base of the glass body is embellished with a cut glass star design

This antique decanter was made by John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton, silversmiths working for Hukin & Heath.

Date: 1906

This Edwardian decanter is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

A minor ding to the rim of the upper portion of the stopper does not detract from the overall appearance.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount, and part hallmarks to the stopper are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique glassware.

Height to top of stopper 25cm/9.8"

Diameter of body 16cm/6.3”

Diameter of centre hole 6.4cm/2.5”

Width across silver mount 9.6cm/3.75”
