These antique sterling silver salvers have a circular form onto three impressive cast sterling silver, floral style bracket feet.

The surfaces of these William IV salvers are embellished with impressive embossed and chased decoration, incorporating a coat of arms and a shaped, circular cartouche to the centre.

The coat of arms is bordered by a ribbon displaying the motto "Fortiter Occupa Portum" - defend your harbours bravely.

Both cartouches to the centre of these impressive Irish silver salvers display the presentation inscription:

"Presented by the Parishioners of St Peters Dublin to the Revd. Rd. L Hobson, Late Curate Afst, As a tribute of their Regard and Esteem, A.D.1850

The rims of these William IV salvers are embellished with a fine and impressive applied floral and foliate decorated border, each accented with seven shell motifs.

Condition

These antique sterling silver salvers are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and are in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each salver are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique Irish silverware.
