Description


This fine antique Italian silver fish server/slice has a broad shaped blade with a lipped upper edge.


The anterior surface of the server is embellished with bright cut engraved scroll and trellis design incorporating an central interlacing scrolling leaf ornamented motif.


The reverse surface of the blade is plain and unembellished.


The server is fitted with a hallmarked tapering rectangular shaped handle with a substantial shell decorated bolster.


The hallmarks to the handle of this impressive silver fish server include:

Maker's mark: Tomaso Panizza

City mark: Plough (Milan, Italy)

Silver quality/purity mark: The Globe and Trioni (.800, 800/1000)


Origin: Milan, Italy

This fine antique Italian fish slice is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the handle are very clear in keeping with age.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this example of Italian silverware.
