Description


These fine antique Adams style sterling silver tureens have an oval form onto an oval spreading foot.


The tureens are ornamented with applied rosette and husk festoon decoration and bold bead decorated rims.


The tureens are fitted with domed hallmarked covers embellished with chased water leaf and bead decoration.


The covers are surmounted with oval thread decorated handles which are further ornamented with crossed leaf decorated branches to the lower half.


The pedestal foot of each tureen reflects the chased water leaf and bead decoration of the covers.


Each tureen is fitted with thread decorated loop handles with impressive shell decorated terminals.


Date: 1917

Condition


These very fine antique George V tureens are an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each body, and part hallmarks struck to the rim of the covers, as expected are all very clear.
