SOLD - Pair of Sterling Silver Candlesticks - Arts and Crafts Style - Antique George V

Description

These fine antique George V sterling silver candlesticks have a cylindrical form to an Arts and Crafts style tapering Solomonic (twist) column onto a plain circular sunken base to a collet style foot.

The plain cylindrical capitals have circular dished drip pans, each with an applied moulded border to the rim.

Both candlesticks have filled bases and are fitted with green baize to the underside.

Date: 1924

Condition

These antique candlesticks are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each candlestick are rubbed but legible; due to their location on the surface of the sunken well, the hallmarks show slight signs of wear as expected, in keeping with age.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware.

Height 17cm/6.8"

Diameter of base 10.8cm/4.2"

Diameter of drip pan 6cm/2.4”

An accurate weight of silver cannot be provided as these candlesticks have weighted bases.
