This is an exceptional pair of antique Victorian sterling silver fruit servers.

The anterior and reverse surface of the knife and fork are embellished with fine bright cut engraved stylised bead and leaf decoration accented with husks and garlands.

Both the knife and fork are fitted with a sterling silver handle, embellished with embossed scroll decoration accented with a bearded male mask.

The decoration to each handle incorporates a scroll bordered vacant oval cartouche.

The knife and fork have filled handles, as to be expected.

These fruit servers are fitted to a hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior.

Date: 1879


These antique fruit servers are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The box is in excellent condition in keeping with age.

The decoration is very crisp and very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of both servers are very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of these pieces of Victorian silverware.
