Description


These fine antique Victorian sterling silver letter openers/meat skewers have been modelled in the form of claymore swords.


The surface of each skewer is plain and unembellished, apart from the featured hallmarks to the reverse.


The hilt and handpiece of each swords is ornamented with a simple ball design to each terminal.


Date: 1894

Condition


These antique letter openers are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse surface of each skewer are all very clear; the maker’s marks show signs of wear in keeping with age, but remain legible.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
