Description


This fine antique George III sterling silver caddy spoon has an oval rounded acorn shaped form.


The bowl of the spoon is embellished with pin struck trellis decoration depicting the husk of an acorn.


The bowl is further ornamented with two fine borders paralleling the shape of the rim.


The shaped handle is embellished with a bright cut engraved and pin struck borders with the contemporary engraved initials ‘SW’ to the terminal.


Date: 1809

Condition


This antique sterling silver caddy spoon is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved and pin struck decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse are all very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian teaware.
