Description


This antique George V sterling silver basket has a rounded oval form onto a spreading oval foot.


The sides of this fine basket are embellished with alternating pierced decorated geometric designs.


This impressive basket is embellished with an ornate shaped pierced decorated border incorporating swag, husk, foliated scroll work and opposing scroll decoration, accented with four bearded mask motifs.


The well of this antique basket is embellished with a band of organic applied decoration.


The foot is embellished with rope twist decorated borders.


This antique George V basket is surmounted by an original hallmarked pierced gadroon decorated swing handle, ornamented with a central stylized floral motif.


Date: 1914

Condition


This George V basket is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The embossed decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the basket and part hallmarks struck to the handle are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique George V silverware.
