Description


This fine antique Victorian sterling silver box has a rounded triangular shaped form onto a stepped collet style foot, in the Arts and Crafts style.


The plain cylindrical body of the box is fitted with three swept triangular brackets embellished with pierced scrolling decoration.


This Arts and Crafts antique box retains the original hallmarked hinged cover, which secures with an impressive hinged hallmarked pierced decorated shaped incurved catch.


The catch incorporates a subtly convex shaped vacant cartouche and features two original gold coloured rivets.


The cover is embellished with a pierced decorated ringed trefoil style design embellished with a central stylised floral motif, all in the iconic Arts and Crafts style.


Date: 1900

Condition


This Victorian box is an excellent gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover and catch are all very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
