Description


This fine, large and impressive antique sterling silver sugar caster has been made in the Arts & Crafts style by Omar Ramsden and Alwyn Carr.


The caster has a cast silver baluster shaped form onto a stepped circular foot.


The caster has an overall planished finish ornamented with a central band of embossed Yorkshire Rose decoration.


A narrower band of embossed rosehip decoration embellishes the rim of the caster.


This antique sugar caster retains the original push fit cover surmounted with a pierced decorated tendril finial.


The iconic Ramsden inscription, 'Omar Ramsden et Alwyn carr Me Fecervnt', found on all Ramsden pieces may be found to the underside of the base.


Date: 1912

Condition


This antique sterling silver sugar caster by Ramsden and Carr is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the rim and cover are clear.
