Description


This fine Victorian sterling silver christening mug has a circular cylindrical form onto four bracket style feet.


The mug is embellished with embossed Hawthorn flower, berry and leaf decoration.


The mug has three scroll framed cartouche - the two at either side displaying Hawthorn berry designs, the central, anterior facing cartouche is vacant.


The mug is fitted with an opposing scroll handle.


The four bracket style feet are ornamented with mask and scroll decoration.


The mug has a gilt interior.


Date: 1853

Condition


This antique Victorian christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The mug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mug are all very clear.
