Description


This impressive antique Victorian sterling silver christening mug has a subtly tapering cylindrical form to a spreading foot.


The surface of the mug is plain and unembellished.


The circular spreading foot is encircled with a band of bright cut engraved geometric decoration incorporating simplified floral motifs.


The mug is fitted with an impressive shaped opposing scroll handle embellished with applied feather decoration to the handpiece in addition to an intertwining lower terminal and leaf decorated upper socket.


This fine Victorian mug retains the original gilded interior.


Date: 1894

Condition


This Victorian mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

This sterling silver mug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface are clear, in keeping with age and location.
