Description


This fine antique George IV sterling silver christening mug has a campania shaped form onto a circular pedestal foot.


The body and foot of this fine antique silver christening mug are embellished with an applied bands of stylised floral and foliate decoration.


The lower portion of the body is encircled with embossed concave fluted decoration.


The mug is fitted with an impressive C scroll handle ornamented with applied leaf decoration to the anterior surface.


This antique mug retains its original gilded interior.


This impressive mug was crafted by the collectable and renowned London silversmith Joseph Angell I.


Date: 1829

Condition


This antique silver christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The applied decoration is sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mug are all clear, in keeping with age and location.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
