Description


This fine antique Victorian sterling silver christening mug has a plain cylindrical rounded form onto a plain circular collet foot.


The lower portion of the mug is embellished with embossed fluted decoration in a swirl design.


This sterling silver christening mug is fitted with a plain C shaped handle.


The mug retains the original gilded interior.


This impressive mug was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Walter & John Barnard and bears the retailer's mark 'Drummond & Co, Melbourne' to the underside.


Date: 1883

Condition


This antique silver christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware.
