Description


This fine antique George V sterling silver cigar case is a rectangular form with rounded corners.


The surface of the case is embellished with alternating panels of bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration intersected with bands of undulating lines accented with circular motifs to each incurved arch.


The decoration to the anterior cover incorporates a shaped vacant cartouche encompassed with a pin struck border.

The rounded sides of this cigarette case are plain and unembellished.


This impressive case is fitted with a plain rounded thumbpiece and push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.


This fine George V case features the original gilt interior and retaining straps.

Condition


This antique sterling silver cigar case is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition.

The case has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the anterior cover and part hallmarks to the interior of the posterior cover are very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
