Description


This impressive antique George V sterling silver desk standish has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners onto four hoof style feet.


The desk standish retains the original detachable hallmarked wells with hinged hallmarked covers.


This desk standish also retains both original glass ink pots.


The borders and hinged covers of the standish are embellished with gadroon decoration and shell decorated corners.


This fine desk standish has sunken pen wells to either side.


Date: 1913

Condition


This antique desk standish is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

There is some discolouration to the ink pots.

This George V desk standish has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the wells and the underside of the stand, and part hallmarks struck to the underside of the cover are very clear.
