All the pieces of this service was made by the renowned London silversmith George Adams - the majority in 1845, but one fork in 1842, and a dessert spoon in 1849.

As with the vast majority of antique flatware service, the knives have not withstood the test of time and are therefore replacement.

This fine and comprehensive flatware service is fitted to a fine mahogany canteen box, with lift up lid, well and two drawers.

The box has brass fittings including a shield shaped brass cartouche to the surface of the cover, displaying the contemporary engraved initial 'W'.

Date: 1845

Condition

The pieces of this antique flatware service are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to each piece are all very clear.

The canteen box is also in fine condition and has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of these items.
