A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver goblet; an addition to our collection of wine and drinks related silverware

This fine antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a tapering circular knopped stem and circular spreading foot.

The body of the goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved shaped Arabesque arches incorporating scrolling stylised leaf motifs on a matte background, accented with interlacing stylised leaf and floral designs.

The upper portion is ornamented with a bright cut engraved angular interlacement band below a simple undulating border.

The knops to the stem are encircled with a bead decorated border.

The foot is encircled with bright cut engraved scallop border with stylised leaf motifs and pendant drop ornamentation with an applied bead decorated border to the rim.

This impressive goblet was crafted by John Frederick Fenton & Frank Fenton of Fenton Brothers.

Date: 1879


This antique goblet is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the goblet are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
