Description


This fine antique George V English sterling silver Arts and Crafts jewellery box has a plain rectangular form.


The surface of this large jewellery box is plain and unembellished.


The hallmarked solid sterling silver hinged cover opens to reveal the bespoke navy blue velvet fitment which provides a central well bordered by integrated ring holders at either side.


The box is fitted with four pillar style supports to each corner terminating with square swept feet in the Arts and Crafts style.


This impressive arts and crafts jewellery box has a weighted base and is fitted with green baize to the underside.


Date: 1930

Condition


This antique Arts and Crafts jewellery box is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition.

The box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the box and part hallmarks to the cover are all clear; due to the location the maker’s mark is slightly rubbed but remains legible, in keeping with age.
